About Us

Overview

We are a well-established civil engineering firm in Sri Lanka with the aim of providing structural engineering designs and solutions for the Norwegian market. The company is registered in Norway as a private engineering firm since 2006. Currently, we operate in both Norway and Sri Lanka, collaborating with prominent construction and consultancy firms in Norway such as Loe Betongelementer AS, Basal AS etc. We have extensive experience in infrastructure, building (including high rise buildings and warehouses) and transportation projects.

We are capable of delivering complete analysis and design works for prefabricated concrete and steel structures inclusive of comprehensive production and erection drawings with details. We take pride in using latest technology and tools such as Tekla, ETABS, Plaxis and task-specific software from Sletten in regard to 3D modeling and structural analysis including FEM. We strive always to serve our clients with cost effective, time efficient and high quality output adhering to relevant international standards.

Our team is anchored by well-qualified, dynamic and result-oriented staff of around 15 employees with work experience in both Norway and Sri Lanka. Most of our engineers stay in Norway for a certain period of time to get hands-on training and development with our projects and procedures. While some of our engineers are fresh graduates , others have years of experience in prefabricated concrete and steel structures. This ultimately has led us to possess a yearning to learn and improve along with flexibility to adapt.

We place a high value on the overall development of our employees. Social events and constant employee-interaction including sports and games, together with focus on improvement of soft skills, encompasses a major part of our day-to-day work environment.

Lanka Consulting AS was established to fulfill the requirement for outsourced engineering services in Norway. High activity level and limited number of engineering resources in the Norwegian market create the opportunity for us to offer our capable professional services from Sri Lanka to clients in Norway.

The engineering services can be in terms of resources permanently dedicated to the client on a yearly basis, project basis or hourly basis. Our key engineering services include analysis and design work for prefabricated concrete and steel structures which entails delivering of complete production and erection drawings with details.

Communication between Norway and Sri Lanka is done by phone, e-mail and web-based communication tools such as Skype Business. Our engineers are fluent in English and most of them fluently speak Norwegian as well.

Most of our engineers have spent a significant period working in Norway to learn about the work atmosphere in Norway, learn the language and to get the know-how of services that need to be delivered. This secures a thorough understanding of business, the Norwegian conditions and specific tasks to be performed.
